This route takes one upstream along the Paro Chu and the ancient caravan route to Tibet through the Seo Valley deep into the shadows of Mt. Chomolhari 7,314m, Mt. Jitchu Drake 7,000m and over Nele La Pass 4,250m into Lingshi Valley. The inhabitants of these tow valleys are nomads subsisting almost entirely on the produce and products of sheep and yaks. The many lakes in Seo Valley are every anglers wildest dream come true. At Lingshi is picturesque remnant of a once migltly border fortrees is now the residences of the valley admininstrator. From his hill a day's trek is all it takdes to cross over the plateau of Tibet.

Bhutan often revered as the "land of the Peaceful Dragon" regarded as one of the last Shangri-La in the Himalayan region because of it's remoteness, it's spectacular mountain terrain, varied flora and fauna and it's unique ancient Buddhist monasteries. It is one of the reactively unexplored pockets of Asia which allow only limited number of discerning travelers to enter the country with a special visa permits.

 

Bhutan's isolation has resulted in its culture and traditional remaining much the same for many hundreds of years. The highlight of tour will be visits to Simtokha Dzong within the tiny capital township of Thimpu and the Taktsang Monastery that clings to a sheer 3,000 foot rock face cliffs.

The snowman trek is considered to be the most challenging trek and of the longest duration in Bhutan. This trek provides an in depth look of the unspoiled and old traditional lifestyle of the Bhutanese; not only the grandiose mountain views and alleys of the Himalya region but also the lifestyle of the mountain people living in harmony with nature and gods. The trekking is 21 days long ranging between the altitude of 3,000m to 5,000m.

Bhutan is probably the last country on earth where modernization hasn't devalued social and cultural life. It is easy to appreciate the efforts of the Government of Bhutan decision to limit tourism to a few thousand a year.
